Brancaia Il Blu is an excellent wine. It's a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 45% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and is balanced and smooth, but with great depth. The wine starts jammy and spicy and has a long finish with balanced acid and tannins. Pairs beautifully with red meat and hearty foods. If you can find it at a good price, stock up.
I tried it, it was OK; certainly not worth the money...in fact my brother-in-law is a chef and he said he wouldn't even cook with it :)
