Benziger Family Winery Chardonnay Sangiacomo Vineyard

Provocative. Sophisticated. Stimulating. Our Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay from Carneros is a signature wine. The individuality of the vineyard, the fingerprint of the vintage and the acumen of the winemaker are joined in each bottle. Our Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay is a rich, luscious wine with a lovely mouth feel.

The Benziger Family Winery was founded in 1980 on the slopes of Sonoma Mountain. Their Reserve wines showcase those rare lots discovered in the vineyard or developed in the cellar that receive the highest level of care and emerge as the best of the vintage. Benziger also produces Benziger Family wine and the limited production Vineyard Designate wines. At the core of Benziger Winery are eight, same generation family members committed to managing every aspect of grape growing and winemaking.

If you are game, then the crisp, clean nature, fresh array of fruits, and minerally presence of this California Chardonnay are beautiful with fish, shellfish, chicken, ham and much more. If you're looking to make a big pot of something for a crowd, how about a twist on a classic: shrimp chowder with fresh corn. The crisp, clean cut of this Benziger white loves buttery sauces, so we suggest seared scallops with tomato beurre blanc. This Sangiacomo is terrific with all things creamy, so another choice is gratineed chicken in cream sauce with skinny French beans on the side. What'll it be winelovers? We can't think of a better way to bring your meal to a close than with a newly opened bottle and the wonderful flavors of an American Laurier goat cheese. Add some dried apricots and toasted walnut bread and you can officially call it a party!

This chard is made in the full-bodied California oaken style. If you like that style, you won't find a better bottle for under $40.
