A ripe wine with powerful, mature fruit, this Cabernet shows flavors and aromas of blackberry, spice and cedar with hints of vanilla and black currant on the nose in a concentrated and rich yet supple texture. The Benziger Family, producers of Benziger Family, reserve and vineyard-designated wines, believes that the nature of great wine lies in vineyard character, winemaker artistry and family passion. At Benziger this means farming and vinifying select vineyards to mine the unique personality of each, winemaking that combines intuition and artistry with attention to detail, and a pervading family passion.
Not bad for the price. Decent bouquet. Goes down smooth with a nice after taste.
This cab has been in the bottle for four years and it shows...very smooth, not harsh...lite on the finish but for the money, it is a good buy.
Benziger is our favorite winery. This Cab is their lower end Cabernet, but is awesome for the price. You can't find another wine of the quality for under $15.00. And, if you want to treat yourself buy a bottle of 2008 or 2009 Benziger Trubute. It ranks up there with any premium label. Benziger was Sonoma County's Winery of the Year in 2012. They are a biodynamic winery. Tim, Goshen Indiana
Benziger always delivers. From their high end to the low end with this cab. We visited the winery during crush in Sept. 2010. I love the way they organically grow their grapes. This wine is a great deal . This is an everyday wine in our home. Our guests love it, thinking we have just poured an expensive wine. We are members of their wine club. Check out their website. Don't miss this great deal.
Benziger has always made a great cabernet...always perfect. Very enjoyable.
I visited Benziger winery last month and I just fell in love with the winery, people and of course the wine. As soon as I came back to my home, I went to wine chateau and ordered me a case of this wine. OMG! I'm so happy I found this wine at a great price. Great structure with soft tannins and hints of vanilla. Superb wine.
Wine Maker Notes Benziger`s philosophy in its range of wines is to find the best vineyards lots which represent the true spectrum of flavor that vintage has to offer. Because of this, the vineyards, and sometimes the appellation, may change from one growing season to the next. Benziger sources grapes for its Cabernet Sauvignon from the hillsides and benchlands of the Alexander, Sonoma and Dry Creek valleys.
Technical Notes Certified sustainable grape growing program. This wine was made with grapes grown with certified sustainable farming methods. Our sustainable philosophy promotes natural vineyard management, restoration of the land and biodiversity on the estate. We believe these practices result in wines that reflect the authentic flavors, aromas and character of the vineyard.
