Straw yellow in color, the wine shows fresh apple peach and citrus flavors offset by hints of almonds and hazelnut. The texture is precisely balanced between ripe fruit and acidity, ending on a crisp, vibrant note. Only the top Pinot Grigio vines with an average age 10-15 years from the finest vineyards in Trentino at the base of the Dolomites are selected for Ca' Montini. The long cool yet sunny days and the southern winds all work together to coax exceptional flavors into this important varietal.
I started drinking Ca Montini Pinot Grigio when the owner of my liqueur store suggested it as an alternative to Santa Margherita, which I was drinking exclusively. He was right on target. I think it's every bit as good and enjoy its smooth taste immensely. And, an additional plus is that Ca Montini is about half the price. I rarely drink Santa Margherita now.
