Wine Chateau's handling of my order for this wine was unbelievable messed up. Several time, delivery was attempted to be made in a town not very close to my own. Complaints were neither acknowledged nor responded to. After some time, Wine Chateau delivered the wine to my house. I will buy no wine from Wine Chateau any more. And I will try to get away from any mailing for this outfit.
Has anyone tried this wine? Sounds good but I would like a second opinion.
Well I have ordered twice from Wine Chateau and have been more than pleased with their timeliness with processing the orders.
So they had nothing to do with the quality of this wine (Masi Modello Rosso Delle Venezie I.G.T 2009)
Whew is this stuff bad.....
On a scale of 5 Stars - this would not even get a 1/2 star!
We think we can use it for cooking wine - but even that is questionable. If this was a $16 dollar bottle of wine - it was over priced by $14.........
I was looking for a case of wine to take with a large group and after tasting it - we decided to leave it at home.
Modello Rosso delle Venezie IGT play
Overview / 2011 / 2010
The Latin root for the word ‘Modello’ is modus, the same as the Italian word for fashion, ‘moda.’ Masi’s vineyards are the finest hillside terroirs in the Veneto. Fruit comes from selected foothill vineyards, particularly the Stra’ del Milione estate at Castions di Strada, Friuli, with varied soil types, mainly calcareous sediments on basalt and clay. The grapes are a proprietary Masi blend of local grapes Refosco, Raboso and other varieties. Each variety is harvested separately; the Raboso is picked slightly later. Typically, controlled-temperature fermentation is performed the end of October in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts and skin contact from 15-20 days, depending on the grape. The wine completes malolactic fermentation. A portion of the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak botti and partly in small Allier oak barrels, followed by a period in bottle.
