94 Points Wine Spectator: Bright, sleek and silky, featuring oak spice notes that add dimension to the cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit. This has the sweetness to balance the dusty tannins on the finish, but needs time.

Notes on the Tenuta Rocca Barolo Docg 750ML 2006

Wine Maker Notes The Tenuta Rocca is situated on the hillside of Monforte d’Alba, Località Ornati, and is painstakingly cultivating the best vines for making great wines. The Estate was purchased in 1986 and it has always been known for producing red wines of great elegance and body. Its ideal climate and sun exposure is positively influencing the maturing of the grapes. Our quality commitment has led this Company to become, along the years, synonymous with fine wines.

Technical Notes During the ripening of the grapes we thin out the bunches to optimize the yield and then hand-select them before they undergo soft crushing. Selected yeast that respect the fragrant aroma of the wine is added to the must. At the end of temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is drawn off and racked. The wine remains for at least two years in oak casks. It is then prepared for bottling and bottle refinement up to a year before it arrives on the market a minimum of four years after the vintage.
