Chateau Les Rouilleres Grand Vin de Bordeaux cherry color of a medium intensity. It is aromatic with notes of red fruits and spices. The tannis are supple and the wine is fine and balanced. A spectacular Bordeaux from the much heralded 2009 vintage with a level of complexity that far exceeds its humble price point.
I was very pleased with this wine. Nicely dry without getting that after "wang" that comes with some of the cheaper Bordeaux's. Running it through the aerator first helped out.
Technical Notes Bordeaux from the much heralded 2009 vintage with a level of complexity that far exceeds its humble price point. Chateau Les Rouilleres, located in the town of Sainte-Radegonde in soils of clayey limestone, benefits from the moderating climate of the Dordogne river. A blend of 42% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Franc and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is aromatic with notes of red fruits and spices. The tannins are delicate and the wine is fine and well-balanced.
