A nice wine but after opening should be allowed to breath for 30 minutes before drinking.
Very deep ruby-red; fresh nose, with hints of red berries steeped in delicate vanilla; dry, full taste, packed with body and structure lengthy ageing. The somewhat different soils, exposures and microclimates of the Preda and Sarmassa vineyards combine to produce a well-balanced, harmonious wine packed with the fresh, elegant aromas supplied by La Preda, and the full body and structure catered for by Sarmassa.
Wine Maker Notes
The estate’s wines are produced from grapes grown on its 20 acres located in historic Barolo "crus": Cannubi Boschis, Preda, Sarmassa, I Merli, San Giovanni, and Costa delle Rose. Tradition and technology come together in the winery under the watchful eye of Virna and her husband Gianni Abrigo, both specialized in both the growing of vines and the making of wines. Together they also run a farm - Azienda Agricola Orlando Abrigo - in the village of Treiso, where Barbaresco is produced. The entire process, from the vine to the glass, is followed with scrupulous attention to detail in order to provide genuine wines of outstanding value.
