It's not all fun and games when it comes to this spirit of choice. Not just any whisky can boast the Scotch label. As one of Scotland's best-known exports, Scotch production is strictly outlined by law in order for the drink to warrant the name. For a drink with such an infamous reputation, makers certainly take it seriously. The whisky must be distilled in Scotland, are generally distilled at least twice and mature in oak casks for a minimum of three years. The single malt part of the name indicates the whisky is made with only malted barley, come from a single distillery and are matured for a minimum of three years. The age listed on the label of any Scotch you purchase from Wine Chateau is guarantee that the youngest whisky used was of that maturation age.
