It's not all fun and games when it comes to this spirit of choice. Not just any whisky can boast the Scotch label. As one of Scotland's best-known exports, Scotch production is strictly outlined by law in order for the drink to warrant the name. The whisky must be distilled in Scotland, are generally distilled at least twice and mature in oak casks for a minimum of three years. The single malt part of the name indicates the whisky is made with only malted barley, come from a single distillery and are matured for a minimum of three years. The age listed on the label of any Scotch you purchase from Wine Chateau is guarantee that the youngest whisky used was of that maturation age.
