Bright and heavy aromas of toasted rye, fresh butter, green pepper and warm biscuits. Starts off peppery in the mouth with notes of cardamom, green apple and spiced earth. The energy continues into a warm, deep finish.
I agree with the above. Nothing beats Red Breast, but in its price class, Powers is the best.
This whiskey is a poor man's Scotch. There is just enough peet flavor to make it unique and still be an Irish whiskey. I have tried most of the Irish whiskey imported and this is by far my favorite of the lower priced whiskey. I can't give it a 5 star because it does not compare to Red Breast but it is great for the money.
