Joseph Cartron Cream de Cassis Double Liqueur is a blackcurrant variety, grown on the slopes of Burgundy, is used exclusively for this fruit liqueur because of its exceptional aromatic potential. This variety has a low yield, only 3 to 4 tons per hectare, which the resulting infusion, a blend of spirit and juice.Naturally the alcoholic content is lowered thus developing the flavor of the fruit.
Joseph Cartron Creme de Cassis is made with Noir de Bourgogne black currants grown in Burgundy and selected specifically for bouquet and concentration of flavor. The currants are macerated (steeped) in alcohol for 4 to 5 weeks and then blended with sugar. They suggest mixing with sparkling water or used in cooking ("peps up" chicken or duck) and ice cream.
