We just got back from Scotland. While there, we went to a bar the first night and asked the bartender for a local liqueur. He recommended Glayva, we tried it, and wound up asking for it at every place we went. Great!!! We were thinking about trying to bring some back with us, when I searched the internet and found winechateau had it (including shipping, it was cheaper than buying it in Scotland). So I ordered it after we got home.
A scottish friend of mine had told me about Glayva as his favorite whisky, which I had to try when I read what it was made with; it's as delicious a nectar as the label promises, especially if you have a sweet tooth with liquors.
Relatively rare but well priced, highly recommended to anyone.
I wish it was more readily available. Not a common drink here. Upon visiting the highlands, its a regular. Great after dinner, either warm or rocks. But why water down a good drink!
Wonderful and full of Scottish memories! D&K
