Dewar's 12 year old blend, called 'Double aged' due to the 6 months of marrying in oak casks that the whisky does after initial maturation and blending.
John Dewar started the family business. He was one of the first time men to blend whisky and soon built Dewars reputation for fine whisky. Born in 1805 to a humble farming family, John dewar grew up in Scotland, near the small town of Aberfeldy.
John Alexander built the Aberfeldy distiller in 1898, so he could insure the quality and taste in Dewars whiskies. Aberfeldy is the only distillery built by the Dewar family, and it’s still the single malt at the heart of all Dewars blends.
