For under $7 this was a no brainer for me. However, this is a drink now type of a wine.
Excellent value of a French Chard. Crisp, light. I have bought 2 cases already, and will buy more.
This is a very good French Chardonnay for the price. It tasts 20 dollar range. No, like California chards, oak flavor. It is complicated and has different flavors from start to finish. It is however, a bit heavier than I would like.
above average inexpensive, everyday chard
Wine Maker Notes
Chardonnay is the world’s most famous white wine grape and is behind the finest white Burgundies. It is also one of the most widely planted varieties, although it is generally acknowledged that the best expressions of the grape are found in France, Italy, USA, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Vin de Pays d'Oc is a Vin de Pays (VDP) title covering the Lozere, Gard, Herault, Aude and Pyrenees-Orientales administrative departments of southern France. This area basically corresponds to the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region and is undoubtedly the engine room of Vin de Pays wines. Roughly 85% of the wines originate here, labeled either as VDP d'Oc or with one of the region's many sub-categories.
This wine is best served young and chilled with white meats, poultry and fish.
