The Ramos-Pinto Superior Tawny is a deep brick-red color gained from its extended sojourn in oak. Intensefruit aromas greet the nose, with full secondary aromas evident. The first impression is light and hot, evolvinginto a rich, smoothness gained from wood aging. Ready to drink upon release, this is a well-maturedport, fruity, with a fine flavored, dry finish.
Wine Maker Notes
Ramos-Pinto’s wood-aged ports are blended from several vintages and several quintas. After fermentation, the wines make the voyage down the Douro River to Vila Nove de Gaia, where they are aged in wood casksfor three to seven years before being bottled and shipped.
The Ramos-Pinto Tawny should be drunk cool in warm weather, at room temperature in cooler climates.Wonderful as an aperitif or with a not too sweet dessert. Exquisite with melons or Rocquefort cheese.
