Toasty aromas leap from the glass in this deliciously mature wine. It is soft but still very dry, with acidity tamed by both fine, mature fruit and a creamy texture that sits well in the mouth. This is a very fine, tasty wine. Score: 92. —Roger Voss, December 01, 2005.
(55% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; L130419 3867): Light gold, with a hint of onion skin. Toasty, lees-accented orange and white peach on the deeply scented nose. Fleshy and open-knit, displaying good cut to its ripe orchard and citrus fruit flavors. Shows a touch of gingery spiciness on the finish, which clings with good tenacity and building smokiness.
Elegant, with rich base notes of toasted brioche and smoke adding depth, this integrates finely honed acidity, detailed texture and flavors of black cherry puree, apple tarte Tatin, kumquat and grated ginger. Provides a creamy, mineral-tinged finish. Drink now through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 50,000 cases made. –ANRated #84 in Wine Spectator’s 2012 Top 100

Wine Maker Notes
PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvee Brut is a classic, structured, full-bodied and bursting with fruit Champagne. The blend is composed of a majority of Pinots Noirs, incorporating more than 100 crus from around the Champagne region and Pinots Meuniers from the Grande et Petite Montagne de Reims region.
Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes give Cuvée Brut its structure and elegance. Reserve wines from earlier years are used to create a more rounded blend and ensure the originality of the Piper-Heidsieck style. The wine's harmony develops over the course of slow ageing in Piper-Heidsieck's chalk cellars.
