The Ramos-Pinto Ruby Port has a much denser, redder color than the Tawny Port. A cornucopia of aromasgreet the nose: cherry, blackberry, plum and raspberry. In the mouth it is fresh, vibrant and fruity; itsattack is voluminous. The finish is persistent and aromatic, leaving the opulent fruit flavors reverberatingon the palate.
Wine Maker Notes
This port is aged for three years in large chestnut casks. Contact with air is minimized to prevent oxidationand preserve the wine’s youthful ruby-red hue. This method of maturation also retains the wines deep fruitaromas and flavors, allowing it to be both velvety and youthful.
Considering the freshness, fruit and body of this wine, it should be consumed at room temperature. It iswonderful with cheese and sweet desserts that are not acidic.
