Santa Ema Merlot Select Terroir

Our Merlot is made with selected grapes from the Maipo Valley. Intensely red in color with exceptionally intense aromas that recall black fruits, spices, and a bit of tobacco. The palate is silky and pleasing with good balance and a persistent finish. Santa Ema Merlot is a deep red in color. On the nose, the unmistakable notes of chocolate and vanilla appear along with red fruits and roasted coffee. The palate is silky and has tremendous structure, with nicely rounded ripe tannins. The perfect companion to meats, stews, pastas, and cheeses.

In 1956 , “Don Pedro” and his oldest son, Félix Pavone-Arbea, began making and marketing botted wines that soon earned recognition by the industry and consumers alike. Félix Pavone continued the work of his father, married Catalina Moreno, settled into the family in Isla de Maipo and had four children. María Cecilia, Pilar, Rossana and Félix , who are actively worked in the winery since their youth .

The company´s first export began in 1986 with the shipments to Brasil. Today Santa Ema wines are exported to more than 30 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The primary market in the USA, where Santa Ema is consistently among the top Chilean wineries on the terms of sales. In chile, Santa Ema has earned a solid position by becoming on of the highest- selling Chilean wineries in restaurants, hotels and wine shop.
