The grapes from which Mateus Rose is made are carefully selected from the best quality red varieties grown in Northern Portugal. The greatest care is taken at all stages of production, from vintage through to bottling, thus ensuring that the highest possible standards of quality are consistently maintained. A method called ”bica aberta” with long fermentation under controlled temperatures is used to achieve the particularly well-balanced, fresh and fruity quality of the wine.
