Wolf Blass Wines, established in the Barossa Valley in 1966, has grown from a humble
tin shed to become one of the world's most successful and awarded wineries. Wolf Blass
Wines has won Australia's most coveted trophy, the Jimmy Watson, an unprecedented
four times. There is a tradition of quality, character and consistency from the refined
and elite Platinum Label and the majestic and complex Black Label through to delicate
Rieslings and crisp Chardonnays. Today, Wolf Blass wines are exported to more than
50 countries and are recognised internationally as icons of modern winemaking.
The 2006 Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, deep wine. The nose
shows fresh, varietal, leafy characters with subtle and integrated oak flavours. There
are aromas of plums and berries. This is a medium to full bodied wine that offers a sweet,
middle palate, finishing with fine, smooth, chalky Cabernet tannins.
| Wine maker notes |
| The fruit was crushed and fermented for a period of7 days on the skins. Various cap
management techniques extracted the maximum colour and flavour from the skins. After
pressing portions of the wine were matured with seasoned oak and others in stainless
steel to create a perfect balance between varietal fruit and complex secondary
characters |
