Its distinctive taste is the result of masterful blending and perfect ageing. The deep gold colour of the whisky reflects the power and richness of the flavours, with soft fruity aromas balanced with a delicate floral fragrance and mellow honeyed sweetness.Lavishly presented in a porcelain flagon, each bottle is individually embellished with the Chivas Brothers crest, over a four day period by craftsmen at Wade. The crest incorporates the image of Robert the Bruce and bears a Gaelic motto which translates as ’fidelity, stability since 1801’. The flagon is created by expert craftsmen and is enclosed in a velvet pouch.

Technical Notes The Chivas brother’s fame spread repidly and in 1843, they were awarded the first of many Royal Warrants to supply goods to Queen Victoria. At the time, Scotch whisky was popular, but not as we know it today. Whisky was often drunk without the benefit of long ageing it oak casks, making it a somewhat unrefined taste.
In the 1850’s James Chivas saw an oppeortunity to create a style of whisky that would please his more discerning customers combining soft grain whisky and robust single malts to create a Scotch whisky that was both well balalnced and smooth.
When it launched 1909, Chivas Regal was the world’s first luxury whisky. The 25 year old luxury blend, created for the sophisticated palates of America’s East Coast high society, swifty won its first international following. There had never been a whisky like it. Such was its success that, within months, demand outstripped supply.
