I have a bottle of Royal Salute Scotch 21 year 750 ml. It appears as dark blue porcelain. On the upper label, the #"21" is not black, it is the same gold as the label with a black outline around it. On that same label, is the #2506001, however the lower label under the 80 proof is the #2506072. The red stamp across the top has I-549 stamped on it but no tax I.D. # as I've seen described when reading others descriptions. Can you tell me anything about it including worth and why it would be missing that all important tax #? Thank you, Chris

I have a bottle of Chivas Royal Salute 21 Year Old Blue, in a porcelain flagon that was a gift in 1955. It is still sealed and has the paper state tax label on it, in a velvet blue pouch. Any idea what it is worth and if after 58 years the scotch inside it is still good?

Wine Maker Notes
Deep golden amber reflects the power and intensity of this whisky. Sumptuous sweet gooseberry and fresh pear infused with spicy hazelnuts and lavander. Oaky smokiness enhanced with a powerful floral fragrance and a mouth-filling velvety creaminess.

The Chivas brother’s fame spread repidly and in 1843, they were awarded the first of many Royal Warrants to supply goods to Queen Victoria. At the time, Scotch whisky was popular, but not as we know it today. Whisky was often drunk without the benefit of long ageing it oak casks, making it a somewhat unrefined taste.
In the 1850’s James Chivas saw an oppeortunity to create a style of whisky that would please his more discerning customers combining soft grain whisky and robust single malts to create a Scotch whisky that was both well balalnced and smooth.
When it launched 1909, Chivas Regal was the world’s first luxury whisky. The 25 year old luxury blend, created for the sophisticated palates of America’s East Coast high society, swifty won its first international following. There had never been a whisky like it. Such was its success that, within months, demand outstripped supply.
