Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne has a distinctive yellow label - one of the most easily and widely recognisable Champagne brands. In 1772 Philppe Clicquot established himself as a wine merchant under the name Clicquot and was the first Champagne House to ship rosé champagne.
n 1810 the House took on the name, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, which still stands today, and produced its very first Vintage Champagne. The house of Clicquot owes its current fame however to, Nicole-Barbe Ponsardin who at the age of 27 became a widow of Philppe Clicquot's son Francois. She developed the business both technically and commercially taking the russian market by storm. In order to protect the house from imitations she introduced the distinctive and famous yellow label, now recognised around the world.
