The award winning famous grouse blended malt scotch whisky 18 years old is created from the finest single malt whiskies including the macallan and highland park which are left undistributed for a minimum of 18 years. Only then they brought together and married in cask, allowing the whiskies extra time to blend together to create an exceptionally smooth and rounded character
t was in 1896 that Perthshire grocer and wine merchant Matthew Gloag first created his whisky. Unconventional from the start, he named his whisky after an iconic Scottish bird, rather than himself. And so the Grouse Brand was born.
It was the popularity of the whisky, together with the quality of the liquid, which led to the success of his whisky - which was the reason he added the word "Famous" to the name in 1905.
