Deep ruby in the glass, the wine has aromas of deep red fruit, with slight notes of toast and spice. Made in a more modern style, this Barbaresco is concentrated and focused.
Purchased in 1997, Bernardot is located in Treiso and sits at an elevation of 1,300 feet facing south. Composed of three different soils, (clay 42%, silt 35% and sand 23%) it was entirely replanted from 1998-2000. The grapes were hand-picked, destemmed and transferred to stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks for fermentation followed by a brief maceration. The wine aged in 300L French oak barriques (50% new) for 22 months at the Ceretto’s Bricco Asili estate.
