This is espresso with a bite, although the taste is very smooth due to the burned sugar used in creating the flavor. The Columbian coffee beans are significant and noticeable in the Double Espresso, which has a great roasted aroma with a touch of sweetness from the caramel. Less noticeable than in the Espresso, there is a hint of bitterness in the taste. The caffeine is not noticeable in the flavor, but you can feel it a bit in the aftertaste.
Introduced in 2005, the artfully crafted Van Gogh Double Espresso® Vodka is a rich toasted shade of brown featuring a bold espresso flavor that has been intensified with a caffeinated punch to provide spirit and coffee lovers with a singular espresso experience.Van Gogh’s flavored vodkas and Van Gogh Gin are distilled and bottled by the Royal Dirkzwager Distilleries in Schiedam, Holland. The city is famous since the 16th century not only because of the excellent water quality but also for innovation in distillation sciences. The Royal Dirkzwager Distillery is a family owned business, passed down from father to son since 1879 received in 2004 a Royal Appointment by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands for 125 years of consistent excellence and reliable quality. Over the years the distillery expanded and needed more space for bottling lines, distilling tanks, pot stills and inventory. Rebuilding and modernizing the distillery is an ongoing process and always under the supervision of the Holland Monument Society.
Handmade in small batches by our own Master Distiller Tim Vos, Van Gogh Vodka is painstakingly crafted using only the finest fruit, grains and purified water. The grain alcohol goes through a multiple distillation process followed by an all-natural double infusion flavoring process. This innovative six-week procedure, pioneered by the Royal Dirkzwager Distilleries, creates Van Gogh Vodka’s signature smooth taste. The state-of-the-art equipment ensures a smooth and quality controlled bottling process which is handled in a very efficient way.
