Aroma is dry, clean, and grainy, with background notes of parchment and litchi; later passes offer semisweet, mildly smoky/ashy scents of charcoal and smoldering embers. Palate entry is firm, moderately oily, bittersweet; at midpalate concentrated and spicy grain flavors mingle adroitly with the smoky, sap- and resin-sweet birch-charcoal filtering influence. Concludes sweetly and almost candy-like.— P.P. (8/1/2005) — 96-100
Crystal clear in appearance, fresh and engaging on the nose. A smooth and harmonious flavor with clean vodka notes balanced with a well rounded, smooth finish.
Stolichnaya - ‘Stoli' to its many friends - is an authentic family of Russian vodkas, made in the traditional Russian manner using production techniques that date back to the fifteenth century. Only the very finest natural ingredients find their way into Stolichnaya. There's no mistaking the Stoli on the table or the tongue. That iconic red label stands out from the masses. Complex layers of flavor and an unmistakable quality tell you you're drinking Stoli the second you raise the glass to your mouth. Stolichnaya is the world's number one selling vodka Liquor.
Stolichnaya has its origins in the Moscow State Wine Warehouse No. 1 which was opened in 1901 by the authorities to ensure higher quality vodka production. There’s confusion about the actual birth date of Stolichnaya vodka. The earliest confirmed production date is 1948, but the label design clearly predates 1946. It is likely that it was created by V. G. Svirida around 1944. However, there is a trademark patent dated 1938, which is sometimes quoted as another birth date.
