Modello Bianco is rich and fruity, with an attractive and typical minerality. The Pinot Grigio grapes contribute greatly to its elegance and style.
Tasting Notes Modello delle Venezie Masi is a wine with an unusual grape mix: Corvina and Raboso Veronese, two of the most characteristic varieties in the Veneto. The typical characteristics of the Corvina grape provide color, bouquet and flavour of cherries; the Raboso Veronese contributes tannins, richness and vitality. The wine has a deep tone of ruby red, is round, well-structured, with the unmistakable bitter cherry flavour. Com plex and elegant, Modello literally means: “A perfect original example, a prototype for a more ample production”. Modello, a word that expresses the philosophy of production of this wine, more than any other reference to geographic names, names of grapes or of phantasy.
Wine Maker Notes The various varieties are harvested separately when fully ripe, then vinified in October in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After a complete malolactic fermentation, the wines are giving additional aging in large Slavonian oak barrels (botte)—a percentage of the wine is aged in small Allier oak barrels, where they remain for 6-10 months.
Food Pairing It may be served with many dishes. Perfect with soups, pasta and risottos. It goes very well both with simple and more substantial dishes based on red meat, or with fresh cheeses. Ready to drink, Modello can be aged for 2-4 years.
