In general rule, gevrey-chambertin shows a pretty color ruby, lively and brilliant. One notes the beautiful "legs" on the partition of the glass. The flavors are fruity and typical intensément of this name: wild ripe, black cherry. Flavors of wooded are fine and subtly married. The evolution in bottles brings more complexity to the nose, spicier grades of nutmeg and leather before evoking mushroom scents.
Serve with red meats (roasted or in sauces, beef or game), poultries in stew or with mushrooms or cheeses refined.. A gevrey-chambertin must be able to preserve itself, following his top of the line of 12 to 20 years but one can appreciate it in his youth, all in force and in fruit.
