Spiced apple sauce and baking spices on the warm and inviting nose. In the mouth it is smooth and velvety with a pleasant sweetness up front. Flavors combined caramelized honey, honeysuckle and light roasted coffee for a very elegant flavor profile.
what is the age on this Scotch?
According to the Technical Notes below, it's 28 years (18 year old matured for 10 years in Sauterne barrels). It also states that this is Glenmorangie's "oldest" vintage whiskey--probably so, but I could swear they had a 30 year old offering not too very long ago (3-5 years).
I first tasted this wonderful single malt in Edinburgh last August at the Scotch Whiskey Experience...Glenmorangie was hosting a tasting of several single malts. I was captured at the first taste! This is the finest whiskey I've ever had!
Delicious, a friend introduced me to it a year or so ago and I've yet to find anything like it since.
i highly recommend NO ONE buy this product. (more for me later.)
This is a truely unique Single Malt. Unlike any Single Malt I have had in the past. You can read the professional reviews, but it has to be tasted to be appreciated
whats the weight of this with box to be taken as check-in to India
Spectacular. Delicious scotch with a flavor of mocha. And the price on winechateau is the best I have seen. (equal to the cost at duty free in Europe---including tax/ shipping). A great drink for special occasions.
I first tasted this Scotch at a Scotch bar after a golf outing in FL. I finally decided to spend the money and I ordered a bottle for Christmas. VERY disappointed. This wasn't even close to the Scotch I had at the tasting.
Purchased 2 bottles of this remarkable Scotch for our son's 42 birthday. One to sip and one to save. Six of the Scotch tasters at our little gathering LOVED this wonderful smooth like honey in the mouth finish.Pleasant and willing to please. You can't go wrong with this Scotch.Babs on the Beach in Florida
the best scotch i have ever tasted ~~~ so far. try it with a chocolate desert and see how the dark roasted malt makes toffee and coffee explode out of this outstanding scotch.
In 1999 Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s head of whisky creation, acquired the keys to a limited quantity of Sauternes barriques from the fabled vineyards of Chateau d’Yquem. This gave him an idea; what would happen if the exquisite 18-year-old vintage he had been patiently maturing were to be transferred into these famous barriques? The result of these 10 years of extra maturation is just 1,000 bottles of the oldest and very finest Glenmorangie vintage whisky.
