Wine Maker Notes
With its long history , Ruffino is a living symbol of the quality progress which the entire Italian wine sector has undertaken through the twentieth century. Ruffino's production philosophy is based on two leading concepts: The quality of its wines and the expression of the territories where these wines are produced - a winemaking art which Ruffino has refined throughout the decades.
The Chianti Classico "Riserva Ducale" stems from an accurate selection of the best grapes during harvest. Picking started in September and lasted until the beginning of October. The alcohol fermentation, aided by racking and punching down, took place in thermo-controlled stainless-steel vats at an average temperature of 26-28°C for approximately 10 days.
