Full garnet in color. Aromas of plum jam and cherry liqueur, allspice, nutmeg andanise. Palate offers integrated oak with spice cake and black fruit character.
(88% Merlot/6% Malbec/6% Cabernet Sauvignon). The blend consists of two Merlot lots, one from Monterey County (47%),the other from the Lodi area (41%). The balance includes Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County and Malbec from theRed Hills Appellation of Lake County. Fermented in stainless steel, all but the Malbec seeing extended maceration of 21 days.The Monterey Merlot was aged 11 months in American oak, while the Cabernet and Malbec were aged 9 months in oak (50%American). The Lodi Merlot saw no oak at all.
