1992, French clones 242, 107 andAmerican clone Davis 1 were planted in the La Escultura vineyard inthe Casablanca Valley, which is located a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. The moderate, coastalclimate encourages slow and even ripening, resulting in grapes with mature flavor and aromatic profiles.Hand-picked fruit was immediately destemmed, crushed and pressed into stainless steel tanks forfermentation. Asmall portion was held back and fermented in barrels to lend extra complexity to the finalblend and both lots were aged on their lees for three months.
