We give the Prugnolo Gentile grape our closest attention and care.This characteristic grape of Montepulciano expresses the full potential of a region with an acknowledged gift for viticulture. The result is our Vino Nobile di Montepulciano – well structured, with longevity and perfumes that are intense but not exaggerated, faithfully expressive of deep, Tuscan roots and the ancient bond between the soil, man and culture.
Floral notes and acidity add brightness while polished, firm tannins carry the round and ripe red fruit flavors through to a balanced and elegant finish.
Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for 18-22 days. The wine is aged in oak for 14–16 months, two thirds in French barriques and tonneaux (80% used) and one third in traditional casks.
(85% Prugnolo Gentile/15% Colorino, Canaiolo and Merlot) The grapes fermented and macerated for 18- 22 days in steel vats of which two-thirds matured for 14-16 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux (80% neutral and 20% new) while the remaining third aged in casks. A profound red with plenty of regional character.
