Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris

This wine is from United States, Oregon region, Willamette Valley sub-region. Willamette Vineyards pioneering plantings of Pinot Gris began in 1978, when this varietal was virtually unknown in the United States. Today, our goal remains the same: to vinify Pinot Gris with creamy texture, vibrant pear and apple flavors, and a bright finish.Based on our commitment to finding the perfect match between varietal and climate, Pinot Gris is an obvious choice. A relative of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris is perfectly suited to the climate and soils of the Willamette Valley.Ponzi Pinot Gris is fermented entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to create this crisp, lively wine that meets our highest standards of perfection and consistency.

Pinot Gris is fast becoming one of the most widely planted white wine grape varietals in the world, due to the fact that the wines made from it are increasing in popularity with global audiences, and the fact it has the ability to match with a wide variety of different foods. This grape varietal is notably for its color, or colors, which range from grayish blue to amber, from pink to purple depending on the climatic conditions and other such variables in the place where they are grown. Pinot Gris grapes tend to ripen early, yet have a relatively high natural sugar content. This makes them ideal for a wide range of winery methods, and they can either be drank young and slightly sweet, or can be fermented more for extra dryness or a higher alcohol level.
