Notes on the Hesketh Shiraz Usual Suspects 750ML 2008

Tasting Notes The Hesketh family has always followed the path less travelled by. This ethos leads us to create a selection of vineyard specific wines, ranging from classic Australian regional examples, through to eclectic old world wines to surprise and delight. Each wine is made in a house style which reflects the family’s passion for wine, understanding of wine quality and over ninety years combined experience, both working with wine and imbibing the fruits of our labour.

Wine Maker Notes During a fleeting half century in the global wine community, the Hesketh family has always followed thepath less travelled by. As a result their winemaking philosophy is somewhat different. They only producewines from the most celebrated grape varieties, from only the most acclaimed regions for producingthose varieties, wherever they may be, anywhere in the world.

Technical Notes The Shiraz was sourced from 25 year old vines from Buttery's vineyard and was co-fermented with Viognier (5%)sourced from Maslins Beach vineyard. 25% was aged in American oak with the balance maturing in new and olderFrench oak for 14 months.
