Intense red/purple color. Complex nose of berries, spice, cedar and chocolate. Delivers a rich, full texture with berry-spicy-cedar flavors. It is a well balanced wine with a lingering, pleasing finish.
The grapes come from Valentin Bianchi's Dona Elsa Vineyard, planted on sandy calcareous and alluvial soils at an elevation of 2,493 feet. Fermented in stainless steel with periodic pumpovers and maceration on skins for 3 weeks. Aged 10 months 33% new oak (90% French and 10% American).
