Chateau Pape Clement Pessac Leognan 2009
BOTTLE SIZE: 750ml
Château Pape Clément can boast one of the richest histories in Bordeaux, and even more so in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Planted in 1300, the estate is the oldest planted vineyard in the Pessac-Léognan appellation after being planted by Bernard de Groth, the future Pope Clément V. The 2009 Clément ranks among the estates finest, luckily for recent buyers, those have been in the past 15 years. Showing characters of blueberries and toasted vanilla along with complimenting crushed herbs, this is a Clément with a full-bodied feel.

RP Robert Parker, Apr 1, 2010

Rich and muscular, with exotic roasted spice, braised fig and warm raspberry confiture notes that are supported by a broad baseline of dark cocoa, tar and freshly brewed espresso. Not shy about its modernity, but everything is in place. Just needs to settle in withcellaring. Best from 2015 through 2030.—J.M.
