Classy, with ripe cherries, strawberry, tar, floral, mineral and a slight touch of vanilla. This is a young Barolo you can get away with drinking now, but will also last over a decade in the cellar for those who don't mind waiting.
Thanks, Joe--good advice
The color is garnet-red with ruby highlights that take on a slightly orange tone over time. It has a clear-cut, intense nose with overtones of vanilla, spices, withered roses and underbrush. The taste is dry, but soft, full-bodied, velvety and well-balanced, and is very long-lasting.
Wine Maker Notes
By applying the latest natural integrated farming techniques, in 2010 Fontanafredda became the first in Piedmont to be awarded official “Integrated Farm Management” Certification. The water used is then 100% bio-treated and returned to the environment. The rainwater conveyed from the surrounding hills and park is collected in the lake and used for irrigation.
