Intense, stylish and pure, with a gorgeous beam of Jonagold apple, Cavaillon melon and quince flavors laced with extra hints of white peach and honeysuckle. A long quince echo shows on the succulent finish, which is deftly balanced by fine acidity. Best from 2014 through 2024.
The sweet wines of Domaine des Baumard are from vineyards planted along the Layon river in the Coteaux de Layonappellation. This location allows the Chenin Blanc grape to ripen well in most years and is often enriched by botrytis. Carte d’Oris the most basic of Baumard’s sweet wines and is moderately sweet and delicious young.
