Notes on the Grove Mill Chardonnay 750ML 2009

Wine Maker Notes Part of the wine was barrel-fermented in French oak barriques, with the balance in stainless steel. The wine was matured in oak barriques and in tank on light yeast lees for eleven months in order to preserve the naturally exuberant fruit flavors while allowing for additional complexity.

Wine Review Wine Enthusiast September 2009 88 Points Chardonnay 2007 - 88 Points, Wine Enthusiast------------------------------------------This is a plump and rounded Chardonnay that manages to deliver citrus and melon fruit alongside ample notes of toasted grain. It’s harmonious and elegant, leaving it extremely easy to drink now and over the next year.------------------------------------------ Wine & Spirits June 2008 88 100 Top Values of the Year------------------------------------------Initial sulfur blows off to reveal a bright, lemony chardonnay. This is clean and dry, with a touch of minerality. For any roast fish. ------------------------------------------ Wine Enthusiast May 2008 87 Points ------------------------------------------A loud style of Chardonnay, with smoky oak aromas wrapped around a core of yellow plum and grilled peach. It’s medium-bodied, but with plenty of intense flavor - a bold wine that satisfies.------------------------------------------ O, The Oprah Magazine May 2007 The Wine Divas------------------------------------------What’s the best wine with hamburgers? With chocolate? And what does tannic mean, anyway? Julie Powell raises a glass to a vintage organization that celebrates wine, women and friendship. The Divas’ Choice: Nine Wines Under $20: Grove Mill Chardonnay (New Zealand). Aging in oak barrels results in peach and pineapple flavors. An ideal wine for cocktail hour, it also stands up to lobster or a meaty fish.------------------------------------------
