Wine Maker Notes
Our white grapes come from a variety of vineyards throughout California. With its long, sunny coastline hugging chilly Pacific waters, California has the ideal climate for fruit-forward wines. Days are warm, encouraging rich, juicy fruit flavors to develop, and are followed by cool weather in the evenings, which slows the development and allows the grapes to hang on the vine late into the season, developing, ripe, luscious, well-balanced flavors. To achieve that wonderful balance of sweet fruit and lifted citrus notes, we selected several aromatic white varietals, including Muscat, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Viognier and Chenin Blanc. Each contributed a distinct set of characteristics to the blend for a lovely melange of welcoming flavors. The Muscat, Riesling and Viognier offered layers of stone fruit; the Gewurztraminer lifted the aromas with subtle spices and citrus and the Chenin Blanc gave a clean, crisp snap to the rich fruit. Together, they create an enjoyable and inviting wine bursting with flavors.
