Personally, I think Justin Syrah is even better than the better-known Justin Cabs. Very smooth, but bold flavor. It works well with steak and such, but because it's a bit fruitier than the Cabs, can be server with other foods as well. Very versatile wine.
Appearance: Opaque core lightening to a pale purple-ruby rimAroma: Rich blackberry and boysenberry fruit with cracked black pepper, sweet vanilla, herbs and smokePalate: Full bodied and complex with a mix of bright blackberry and a little cherry fruit with dried herbs and smoked meat on the mid-palate. Finish Is long and complex with vibrant blackberry and cherry fruit, a bit of pepper, herbs and mineral notes surrounded by firm, but well balanced tannins.
This wine is on the soft side with deep wild raspberry and blackberry tones that are framed with a note of moist earth and oak driven vanilla and spice tones. Definitely a bigger, richer style yet one that remains soft and supple if lacking much of the spice and meatiness of the grape
