This approachable, medium-bodied red offers fresh and bright expressions of ripe red fruit, cherries and forest strawberries. The succulent finish is sustained by impressive length and excellent acidity.
Estate fruit from 10-15 year old vines planted in Le Capezzine, I Pogetti, La Lombarda and La Selva was hand-picked in different passes to ensure phenolic ripeness. The grapes were macerated on their skins for three days and fermented in stainless steel tanks - 10 days for the Merlot and 15 days each for the Cabernet and Sangiovese. Malolactic occurred in oak and the wines were aged for five months; the Cabernet and Merlot matured in neutral oak barriques while the Merlot aged in large Slavonian oak casks.
