This wine is made for easy enjoyment. The bouquet offers aromas of ripe strawberry and plum with smoky earthy notes. Medium-bodied on the palate with cherry flavors, a hint of green pepper and soft juicy tannins on the finish.
This wine is made from a blend of 60% Cabernet and 40% Merlot. Each different lot of grapes was vinified separately so fermentation could be individually tailored to the different grapes.
The juice was left to macerate on the skins for five to seven days. Then the skins were removed, pressed and a small part of the pressed juice added back and fermentation was completed. This technique gives the wine more body and color. The final blend was made after fermentation was complete and before bottling.
