Sweet black fruits and white flowers on the nose lead to red fruit, earth, nutmeg, star anise and kirsch flavors. The finish features well-balanced acidity and a wood-spice finish.
Pierre Leon is a selection of different clones, including Dijon clones, 113, 114 and 115. Cold soaked prior to fermentation in open-top fermentors for 25 days with skin contact and daily punch downs. The wine aged for 13 months in French oak (50% new).
