Very nice. A bit tart when you first open the bottle, but settles well after a few minutes.
This vintage, our Landslide Vineyard produced a wine that is intensely seductive with an alluring balance of dark fruit to bright fruit. Opaque deep red with a vibrant ruby edge, this wine begins the seduction with sweet black cherry, cassis, plum, and blackberry fruit aromas along with dark roasted coffee, brown sugar, vanilla, and smoky mineral notes. Subtle wafts of violets, hints of mint and celery seed complete the aromatics. On the palate, dark berries, cassis, blackberries, and plums are enriched with roasted coffee accents. The entry is big, full and rich, followed by a focused middle and a youthful finish with a slight grip and dark roasted offering. Simi was founded in 1876 by Giuseppe and Pietro Simi.
