Duckhorn Duckhorn Migration Pinot Noir Anderson Valley 2009
This is a complex, red fruit-driven Pinot Noir with a rich entry, balanced acidity, good length and substantial structure. In both the aromatics and on the palate, enticing notes of cranberry and strawberry take center stage supported by layers of cola and spice, as well as savory elements of leather, tomato leaf and bacon fat.

Served this Pinot at a wine dinner we hosted. Paired with a course of pasta with sun-dried tomato pesto and shrimp. Everyone loved it! Several comments that it was the best wine of the six we served that evening.

Notes on the Duckhorn Migration Pinot Noir Anderson Valley 750ML 2009

Tasting Notes In California’s acclaimed Anderson Valley, cool nights, clay soils and fog-enveloped mornings help to shape a refined and compelling style balancing vibrancy and finesse. Following in this tradition, this lush, complex wine highlights signature Anderson Valley elements of dark cherry and ripe wild strawberry.

Wine Maker Notes A dry winter and spring in the Anderson Valley limited canopy growth and yields. Throughout the summer, the weather was near ideal with moderate daytime temperatures. At the same time, the valley’s proximity to the Pacific ensured a regular cooling influence, resulting in diurnal temperature swings of almost 40 degrees Fahrenheit. September brought a sustained heat spell with temperatures reaching the low 100s, giving the grapes a final push toward perfect ripeness.
