The largest and most famous Pouilly-Fumé vineyards have been in the hands of the Comte Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787 when the Comte Lafond purchased the estate from the illegitimate daughter of the French king, Louis XV.
Tasting Notes Pale golden-green color. Considerable intensity on the nose. . It has an exceptional full range of floral, exoticand citrus fruit aromas such as white blossoms, hawthorn, white nettles and grapefruit. These notes areenhanced and strengthened by the moneral note of gunflint. The flavor is pleasant and lively, tempered bya fruity roundness with notes ofpear, green apples and citrus fruits.
Wine Maker Notes Destemmed, vinified by gravity. 80% natural juices, 20% by pressing. Thermo-controlled fermentation instainless steel tanks for 3 to 6 months on natural lees. The wine is assemled 7 to 8 months after harvestingand stored in glass-tiled tanks. No wood is used in the vinification process in order to preserve the freshnessand full flavor of the Sauvignon Blanc grape.
