Deloach Chardonnay Russian River Valley

Our 2001 California Chardonnay is a bright, crispwine with aromas of Asian pear and apple. Flavorsof caramelized brown sugar, apples and pears areaccompanied by a full and creamy mouthfeel. Thiselegant Chardonnay is clean and well balanced witha long tropical fruit finish.

De Loach 2001 California Chardonnay wasproduced from carefully selected Chardonnaygrapes grown throughout California. OurChardonnay was fermented in stainless steel tanksat controlled temperatures then 1/3 of the wine isaged in small French oak barrels for 5 months.

92pts.OFS is De Loach’s top Chardonnay, and in ’99 it’s taken to a late harvestripeness. You can almost feel the fall winds in the glass, taste the ripeapples about to fall from the tree, the golden raisins, the golden grasses. It’s huge, and rather statuesque for all that ripeness – there’s enoughstructure to hold all the ripeness so it tastes clear, not at all muddled. Forromantic poets, or anyone in an extravagant mood.-Wine & Spirits Magazine
